ASEAN YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS Carnival Official

The 7th ASEAN YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS CARNIVAL (AYEC) will be hosted physically from 11th to 13th November 2022, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia by the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC) with the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Cambodia in partnership with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Cambodia.

“The ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council Meeting and the 7th ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Carnival will be held in Phnom Penh, with the expected participant of about 500 young entrepreneurs from ASEAN countries, key leaders of Cambodia, ASEAN as well as the ASEAN Plus,” said Oknha Pech Bolen, Executive Vice President Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia.

Under the flagship theme “RISE STRONGER TOGETHER”, it highlights ASEAN’s young potential entrepreneurs’ resilience in response to economic uncertainties brought about by COVID-19 and showcases their talents and insights on how they will help ASEAN nations rise stronger together through digitalization, leadership, and collaboration towards attaining inclusive growth and inclusive women’s involvement in addressing the significant issues as we adapt to this new norm.

It should be emphasized that the event will discuss several significant topics, such as the growth of financial sectors in the region, its impacts on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the digital economic development, and the progress of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Additionally, there will be an award handover ceremony for exceptional ASEAN young entrepreneurs as well.

The 2022 AYE Carnival also aims to strengthen and expand the scope of business and trade among ASEAN young entrepreneurs, especially reaching local business owners of each member state. With the presence of ASEAN Plus partners, Cambodia as the Chair of ASEAN in 2022 strongly hopes all ASEAN member states work together to tighten the economic and trade ties of the region. For Cambodian young entrepreneurs, we are ready to expand our network by sharing knowledge and experiences with other young ASEAN entrepreneurs from across the region.

About Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia:

The Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC) was launched in September 2009 by a team of passionate Cambodian young entrepreneurs from various business sectors. It was established as a volunteer-driven non-profit organization with the ambition to empower young entrepreneurs and enhance youth entrepreneurship. We firmly believe that a country’s next-generation economy’s progression largely depends on the young professionals’ readiness to become entrepreneurs and business leaders, thereby contributing to its economic growth and general development. Through its establishment of a networking platform, sharing and synergizing business opportunities, YEAC wants to contribute to productive employment and sustainable development of Cambodia’s future economy.

About ASEAN YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS COUNCIL

The ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council (AYEC) is the official voice of young entrepreneurs in the ASEAN policy-making process. It was successfully proposed by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) to the ASEAN Leaders in 2015 and later that year launched in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It consists of a network of government-endorsed young entrepreneur associations from all 10 ASEAN Member States. Besides participation in the ASEAN Economic Integration process, AYEC also serves as a young entrepreneurs network, with direct connectivity with the respective national level associations and the ASEAN Secretariat. Besides participation in the ASEAN Economic Integration process, AYEC also serves as a young entrepreneurs network, with direct connectivity with the respective national level associations and the ASEAN Secretariat. AYEC is also provided a seat in the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Joint Business Councils (ASEAN-BAC JBCs), where proposals on young entrepreneurship are tabled to the official private sector representative in ASEAN. With that came about our ABAC-AYEC Policy Dialogue Forum (AAPDF) which aims to give voice to ASEAN’s young entrepreneurs and unite key AYEC stakeholders behind a common agenda for the betterment of young entrepreneurship as a key engine of ASEAN’s innovation-led economic growth.
